One, the number, stands out against a dark and deep background illuminated by gray and material rays that emanate from a lost point in the infinite, filling the visual field in every direction. The contrast between one, of metallic and silver material and a gold profile, and the background, gives us the idea of a dynamic becoming, of which we catch a moment without knowing what could realistically happen next or what objectively happened before.
This is the dramatic situation in which we perpetually find ourselves, suspended in the perennial present, aware and truly conscious of this alone, while imagining a past we are mindful of and a future, which surely will exist, but we don’t know in what forms. By reworking our experience and the details that we grasp in sight, we can only register the signs of the past, of elements that have acted on things and have left traces, signs, pieces of matter.
Regarding the future, we know that it has always been there until today, and this strengthens us in the idea that it will be there once again, even if we cannot say it with certainty, only with reasonable intuition. So for a kind of transitive property Today was the future of yesterday, which is the past of today while the present of tomorrow will be the future of today.
And yet, until we open the box we don’t know if the cat is alive or not.
